Five years ago, God led me to begin writing Bible studies, starting with a study of the Book of Esther. I admit to not jumping up immediately to begin the task. Instead, I suggested to God that a study could be covered by a nice series of blog posts.
But in ultimate obedience, I wrote a Bible study about Queen Esther. That led to a series of Bible studies based on the character and circumstances of women in the Bible. Studies of Eve, Ruth and Mother Mary have joined the collection with Esther. A study of John the Baptist’s mother, Elizabeth will release within the next few months.
Next week, begins a new “chapter” for these books for me as I take on the honor of leading a women’s Bible study at our new church. We will begin our study of women from Scripture with a study of beautiful Queen Esther.
I am excited about starting this study with my new Idaho sisters.
Throughout the writing of I am Esther I kept one verse in mind to help me focus on lessons we could learn from Esther:
And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this (Esther 4:14).
In other words, God has placed us where and when he desires. Because we are the daughters of the King, we have a responsibility to do His will, be obedient and further His purpose.
As I plan for the lessons I will lead over the next weeks, I am focusing also on the beauty God gave to each of His daughters and how we can see ourselves as beautiful in His sight.
